Wed Feb 22, 10:00-11:30 AM “A Somatic Approach to Improving Hip/Knee Issues” finds the connections between the imbalances in the hip alignment and movement and knee issues. We will give the body gentle strengthening and re-patterning of muscle groups involved. This a good class for general mobilizing of the lower torso, upper leg as well as addressing pain issues.


Monday, Feb 27, 2012, 7:00-8:30 PM in the Dance Studio at Hubbard Hall, 25 E Main St, Cambridge, NY. “Restoring more intelligence and mobility to the Spine”offers neuromuscular re-patterning for the muscles of the trunk and deep to the spine. We will dosome detailed work for the pelvis, lumbar, and neck area, and address chronic pain or stiffness issues there.


Mon March 5, 7:10-8:40 PM  “A Somatic Approach to Improving Scoliosis and Chronic Pain in the Torso, Part 1”  offers techniques and sequences to  increase the resting length of the tight muscles around a curvature, mobilizing the torso and changing posture. If you have fusion in your spine, please speak to me before hand. Even if scoliosis is not your issue, you will find great techniques to improve comfort and mobility in your torso.


Wed March 14, 10:00-11:30 AM “Somatic Conditioning: taking this gentle work a little more towards strengthening” When you work in slow motion, by definition, you enhance strengthening, and this work is all about sensual, slow motion. We will use some variations on our somatic sequences to challenge the body towards more strengthening.


March 17 weekend in Huntsville, AL ….TBA at Performance Pilates, St Clair/Monroe, 2nd floor.


Mon March 26, 7:10-8:40 PM “A Somatic Approach to Improving Scoliosis and Chronic Pain in the Torso, Part 2” If you missed Part 1, don’t worry. This workshop can stand on its own. Check March 5 class for description. Even if scoliosis is not your issue, you will find great techniques to improve comfort and mobility in your torso.
