Association for Hanna Somatic Education (AHSE)

Web Linking Policy

This document sets forth the policies and procedures governing the content, creation and maintenance of the "Links" web page(s) on the Association for Hanna Somatic Education®, Inc.'s (AHSE) Public Website.

A. Policy and Authority

1. Links Policies Authority: The AHSE Internet Committee (IC) is the managing body for the purposes of overseeing the Links page(s) of the AHSE Public Website, and for the purposes of determining, drafting, interpreting, and executing this Links Policy.

2. Board of Directors (BOD) Authority on Links: It is generally the job of the IC to manage AHSE web site links, linking policies, and link requests. However, the BOD may decide to order the IC to take certain action regarding AHSE Public Website links, including the placement of, or removal of specified link(s). The IC expects the BOD to include IC wisdom, opinion, and knowledge as input in these discussions. The IC may also respond to the BOD's orders with information they deem relevant. Ultimately, the BOD has final authority to order any actions involving the content of or policies governing the AHSE website.

a. IC Duty to Report to BOD: The IC shall periodically provide the AHSE BOD with a list of IC established links.

b. Periodic Review by IC: From time to time, the IC will visit any or all Linked External Sites to confirm that those sites still comply with AHSE links policies, spirit, and character.

3. Public View Policy Provisions: The information in sections B. through L. shall appear as a discrete page entitled "Links Policy" on the public website of the AHSE. These sections are the policy provisions governing external linkage from the AHSE website.

B. Links Policy Statement

1. Links to AHSE Web Site

a. Advance permission to link to www.hannasomatics.com is not necessary. However, be aware that addresses on the web site may change at any time without notice. Entities and individuals linking to AHSE must regularly verify links to web pages.

b. Entities and individuals linking to pages at www.hannasomatics.com shall not capture AHSE web pages within frames, present the organization's content as its own or otherwise misrepresent AHSE web page contents. Furthermore, they shall not misinform users about the origin or ownership of AHSE web page contents.

c. Certain information on www.hannasomatics.com may be trademarked, service-marked or otherwise protected as intellectual property. Protected intellectual property must be used in accordance with state and federal laws and must reflect the proper ownership of the intellectual property.

2. Outgoing Links from AHSE Web Site

a. AHSE reserves the right to link to external websites that it feels would provide a service to users. At its discretion, the AHSE website may link to websites that contain information and/or services that further the purpose of Hanna Somatic Education (HSE) and the AHSE.

b. Acceptance Criteria: Outgoing links may be approved for and placed on www.hannasomatics.com based on the following criteria:

1). The site's content is appropriate with respect to the purpose of the AHSE, and,

2). the site does not:

a). contain adult oriented material such as pornography or sites that contain links to adult sites

b). promote and/or encourage racism or any hatred towards persons belonging to any ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation, or a site containing libelous or otherwise defamatory content

c).infringe copyright

d).encourage or provide instructions that endorse illegal activities

e). sponsor online casinos/gambling or wares

f). spam (send unsolicited email)

The following types of email fit our definition of spam:

i. fraudulently addressed email, e.g., To/From address other than that of the actual sender or to the actual recipient

ii. message subject not related to the email body

iii. e-mails not containing HSE subject matter which have not been requested by the recipient

iv. emails sent in bulk by sender Mail bombs, other viruses, Trojan Horses, etc.

v. lobby, advocate, or advance the policies and priorities of a particular industry, organization, individual or enterprise; this includes sites of not-for-profit organizations (other than the official website of Hanna Somatic Education/Novato Institute).

vi. belong to or support a political affiliation; or further the agenda of a political organization or candidate running for office.

c. The Association for Hanna Somatic Education reserves the right to deny link privileges if it determines that a web site contains misleading or unsubstantiated claims, conflicts with the purpose of the organization or does not meet one or more of the criteria set forth elsewhere in this policy.

C. Linkage Details

1. Any link to the AHSE web site should be a full forward link that passes the client browser to AHSE unencumbered.

2. When the user clicks on an external web site link from the AHSE web site, s/he must have easy access back to www.hannasomatics.com.

3. One of two options can accomplish this:

a. A link to www.hannasomatics.com can be established on the external web site's landing page; or

b. The "Back" button returns the user to www.hannasomatics.com.

D. Link Removal Process

1. Links from AHSE will be reviewed periodically.

2. The Association for Hanna Somatic Education reserves the right to remove links if it determines that:

a. A website contains misleading or unsubstantiated claims.

b. The link no longer points to the original information or resource to which it was intended to point.

c. The web site pointed to by the link contains inaccurate or misleading information.

d. The purpose of the organization owning the website has changed such that it is no longer in compliance with the acceptance criteria.

e. The website pointed to by the link violates the conditions for link maintenance.

f. Access to the information has become difficult due to non-standard formatting, lengthy download times or intrusive advertising.

g. A link is permanently unreachable or remains unavailable for a lengthy period.

h. A website does not meet one or more of the criteria set forth elsewhere in this policy.

E. Links to other Sites and Privacy Issues

1. It is important to note that the AHSE web site may contain links to other sites that may not follow the same privacy policies as does the AHSE web site. For instance, clicking on a sponsorship notice on AHSE web site will take you to an entirely different site; these sites may use cookies, collect data, and use the data in ways that AHSE does not do.

2. The AHSE is not responsible for the privacy practices or any information or materials on these other sites. Please visit these sites if you wish to review their privacy policies.

F. Acceptance of Privacy Policy Terms

1. All personal information provided to the AHSE through internet communication will be kept private between the AHSE and the party originating the communication, unless such privacy be waived by email, FAX or in mailed hard copy notice by the originator.

2. AHSE reserves the right to change this policy. Any changes to this policy will be posted to this page as soon as reasonably possible, so please check this page periodically.

G. Link Request Submission Guidelines

1. Link requests should be submitted to the Internet Committee via the link provided for this purpose.

2. Submissions should contain the following information:

a. Site main/home/front page address, in the form of a standard Internet URL (for example, http://www.site.org)

b. Requested landing page within the website, specified as a standard Internet URL (for example, http://www.site.org/services/healthcare.htm) and described by an approximate page title or description and its address

i. Links directly to commercial pages of other websites will not be made.

ii. For purposes of this paragraph, a commercial page is a page dedicated to the sale of products including but not being limited to merchandise such as books, clothing, CDs, or other electronically stored data, etc.

c. Site name (a title or phrase used to describe the site)

d. Site Owner name (person and/or organization) and contact information, including email address.

e. Webmaster's name and contact information, including email address.

f. Submitter's name and contact information, including email address.

H. Disputes:

1. In the event of disputes with the IC over link requests, link removals, link page listings, or any other matters of link policies and practices, submitters, members, and the general public have a variety of options.

2. AHSE hopes that parties first will attempt to resolve the matter with the IC. If this avenue is not possible, acceptable, or has been exhausted, disputes can be brought to the AHSE BOD.

3. The BOD will deal with this matter according to its policies & procedures. The IC may also present the BOD with issues it deems problematic or outside of its scope of authority and/or expertise.

I. Links page Location & Accessibility:

1. At this time, the AHSE Public Website Links page is located within the AHSE Public Website, whose address is currently http://www.hannasomatics.com/.

2. The Links page is located on a dedicated page which is reachable directly or indirectly from the AHSE Public Website's standard navigational menu located on most standard pages of the AHSE Public Website.

3. The location of the Links page within the AHSE Public Website may change at any time without notice: This includes the actual URL of the page, the presentation and description of that URL on navigational interfaces, the presentation of the Links page on other pages within the AHSE Public Website, and the name of the Links page.

J. Policy Disclaimer

1. The policies contained in this document are subject to change at any time, without notice.

2. The IC may be governed in decisions about links and/or other actions by policies, documents, and authorities in addition to or authoritative over this document.

K. Copyright and Copying

1. Please note that all our website content is protected by copyright.

2. No articles, text, photographs or graphics may be used without expressed written permission.
