I’m Susan Koenig, Certified Hanna Somatic Educator and Licensed Professional Trainer for Hanna Somatic Education, both authorizations conferred by the Novato Institute of Research and Training, Novato, CA.

I was a student of Thomas Hanna at his first training in 1990.  I completed my training under Thomas’s widow, Eleanor Criswell Hanna in 1992. I have been part of the Novato Institute’s Hanna Somatic Education teaching team since its conception in 1993. I have been in private clinical practice in Berkeley, CA, USA, since 1993. Most people come to me for pain relief from neuromuscular complaints including; surgery recovery, injuries, poor posture, and stress related activities. Prior to practicing Hanna Somatic Education my background included 20 years as a Massage Therapist and as Academic Director at the National Holistic Institute massage school.
